Bringing together voices, actions, and hope for a climate-secure future

The Genesis of CAF

Climate action in Pakistan, despite numerous initiatives, remained fragmented, leaving vulnerable communities to shoulder the greatest burden. This pressing concern was first raised by the Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP), which had witnessed firsthand the deepening impacts of climate change on poverty and resilience in Balochistan. The call for unified action soon resonated across institutions, communities, and sectors: climate challenges require a coordinated response. At the Institute of Rural Management (IRM), this shared concern evolved into a structured vision: a platform to convene diverse actors, foster collaboration, and strengthen collective capacity.

What emerged was a powerful coalition. Development partners, Rural Support Programmes, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and changemakers came together to co-create what is now the Climate Action Forum (CAF). CAF is not merely a forum, it is a collaborative response to a global challenge, amplifying local voices, influencing national policy, and ensuring that climate initiatives are connected, inclusive, and impactful. The CAF Secretariat extends its sincere appreciation to all founding members, particularly the RSPs, SIF, TAF, TVO, HRDN, and the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), for their commitment and partnership in bringing this vision to life.
